Gear Girls
There are girls who, simply because of the expectations placed on them, may never be encouraged to explore the world of science, technology, engineering, or math. Too often, gender barriers—whether cultural, social, or institutional—keep young women from discovering their full potential in STEM. As a Girl Scouts robotics team, we exist to change that. We serve together to bring opportunity, confidence, and community to girls through hands-on STEM experiences—within FIRST and beyond. Our mission is to break the status quo and open doors for the next generation of innovators.
Hoyleton Youth and Family Services
Restoring families, preparing young adults to make positive life decisions, helping parents and guardians be better parents, and providing wellness education are some of the ways Hoyleton is working to build stronger communities.
Kenneth J. Rybicki Foundation
While Dr. Ken Rybicki helped colleagues in their quest for grant money, he realized how important even the smallest amount of funds is to help the fight against cancer. Although he was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer, he saw the need to further research into all forms of the disease. With his vision in mind, the Kenneth J. Rybicki Foundation strives to raise money for various research projects.
LightSys
LightSys provides IT consulting, training, software development, and missions mobilization, to equip missions and missionaries and provide the knowledge and contacts needed to support their technology. One way they do this is by hosting numerous college students for an annual spring break code-a-thon, with the hope of inspiring the next generation to use their talent for the greater good.
Unleashing Potential
The mission of Unleashing Potential is to close the opportunity gap for children and youth in the St. Louis area by building on their strengths. It creates educational and empowering experiences through early childhood education, after school programs, youth development and enrichment camps.
