It’s official! The Wrox SharePoint 2010 Six-in-One book is now published! I helped author this book with a number of other well-known folks in the SharePoint community: Chris Geier, Cathy Dew, Raymond Mitchell, Wes Preston, Ken Schaefer, and Andrew Clark. This book is meant for developers who are new to SharePoint and want to get a well-rounded feel for various SharePoint topics such as branding, development, social networking, the business connectivity services, workflow, and enterprise search.
I wrote two chapters that are meant to serve as an introduction to development in SharePoint 2010. The first chapter focuses on features and solution packages. The second chapter is meant to give you an overview of topics such as how to use the server-side object model, CAML, the client-side object model, and LINQ. I also wrote a chapter that serves as an introduction to the Publishing features of SharePoint 2010, covering both how to use a Publishing site as well as how to create a publishing page layout.
You can puchase the book from Amazon or find it at your local bookseller starting in February.
